I don't understand why you think the issue is resolved. You haven't answered my question and now all the translation credits are associated with the staging site and not the live site.
We only set up the staging site so that you could use it to test the issues I was reporting. If you can't explain why credits are being used to translate content that has already been translated, then let's close this ticket, but please make it so the credits are associated with the live site, so I can at least continue to translate it.
I have added the credits back from the staging to the live site.
If you do not see these credits, please let me know.
Also, take note my supervisor agreed to add 14,768 credits to your account, due to the issue.
About the issue:
Can you still recreate the problem that translations are not completed and get charged twice? If so, we need exact details on where the issue occurs and how to recreate the issue and we will then take further steps.
Take note, that a retranslation of specific segments would usually only be expected if the original content has been edited.
Thanks for the credits, I can now see them on the live site.
I outlined the specific issue that appears to continue to occur in my message of February 7, 2025 at 3:03 pm.
To recap: if I re-translate a page (that has not been updated in any way) in the dashboard of the WPML translation management section, I get charged credits. If I re-translate a page (that has not been updated in any way) via the page Editing interface (please see earlier message for specifics of actions taken) I don't seem to get charged any credits.
Ideally, I would be able to check all the boxes of pages showing a pending update (this appears to show even if a non-content change has been made) in the Translation Management dashboard and update them all at once, rather than go through each page manually and update them. But if I use the Translation Management dashboard to update the pages I lose many, many credits unnecessarily.
Usually, if you send the content again to translation from WPML > Translation Management > Dashboard, you should see two options before creating the job.
One option will allow us to keep the current translations as they are and translate only what needs to be updated and the second option would completely create a new translation for the whole site.
Please take a backup of your site and database.
Then go to Plugins > Add new > Commercial and check for WPML updates.
Install the latest versions of our plugins and let me know if the issue persists. We released a new major release yesterday which makes major usability changes to the Translation Management.
If you will still be able to recreate the issue after running the update, please let me know and I will be glad to take a closer look into this.
I am closing this ticket, not because the issue is resolved but because I need to open a new ticket about another website with a more pressing issue, and your literature says I can't have two tickets open at once.
There is no issue with having more than one ticket open at the same time.
We only advise to open one ticket per issue.
For this ticket:
Please confirm if you still run into issues on your site in regards to translation memory and credit usage and I will take another look into the issue.
I was not able to see any running jobs on the staging site. This can happen if the jobs were created before the user account existed or if the jobs are assigned to a different translator.
Also, please take note that:
The symbol for "Update needed" is an arrowed circle.
The symbol showing an "eye" means that there needs to be a review done for this job.
Take note, that such reviews can only be completed if the translation mode inside WPML's settings is set to "Translate Everything Automatically".
In case you switched the mode to "Translate What You Choose" you will not be able to complete the reviews. I suggest completing first any pending reviews before creating further translations.
