This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where changes to the permalink of a custom post type (CPT) created with ACF Pro prior to version 6.2 are not being reflected in the WPML settings. The WPML settings page continues to display the original permalink instead of the updated one.
Solution:
We recommend going to WPML -> String Translation, searching for the old slug, and deleting the string. After doing this, check if the slug is updated correctly in the WPML settings.

If this solution does not resolve your issue, please open a new support ticket with us.

Dear Support

We found a bug within the latest plugin-versions of WPML and ACF Pro.

Case description: If you add a CPT with ACF Pro (current version) and enter a custom permalink, that is correctly displayed within WPML Settings to translate to another language. Doing a change of the permalink in ACF Pro, that change is shown in WPML Settings without any problems too.

BUT, it looks like that for existing CPTs that were added with a ACF Pro Version PRIOR to 6.2, changes in the permalink are NOT reflected within WPML Settings. WPML-Settings page shows always the original permalink that was added the first time when the CPT setup was done. ("abc" was entered in ACF, but WPML-Settings is still showing the original value from ACF).

So we need a way to push this permalink to WPML to translate it. We got stuck in a project where we need to change the URLs during the next days!

How can we update the permalink of the default language to reflect the permalink-change in ACF Pro?

We really appreciate your help to get not stuck in our project!

Best, Andi

Hi Andi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.

First of all, sorry for the late reply due to a higher workload. I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP).
Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your following answer will be private, which means only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Best regards,
Osama

Hello Osama
I will provide some staging-setup later on the day.

But it looks like a generel error. Even changes in the default language for German for the category-slug are not transfered to WPML.

Hi,

Please go to WPML-> String Translation, search for the old slug, and delete the string.

After that, please check if the slug will be updated correctly.

Best regards,
Osama

Hello,
Yes, that solves the issue with "category" and the other not updated strings.
Thanks.
