This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client's website has English and Arabic translations. After changing the default language to Arabic, the URLs still include '/ar/' which should not be the case.
Solution:
We recommend checking that the option to use a directory for the default language is not active. This setting can be found here: Language URL format documentation. If this option is enabled, it will add '/ar/' to the URLs even if Arabic is set as the default language. Disabling this should resolve the issue.
