This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
WordPress 6.7 has introduced a new issue that impact translations, please update WooCommerce and WPML to the latest versions before you report issues. More about this here - https://wpml.org/errata/php-error-wp-6-7-notice-function-_load_textdomain_just_in_time-was-called/
Background of the issue:
I am using WPML on my site hidden link and I need help with several issues. I want the footer to be different for each language. I also want the second language to have separate pages or links. Additionally, I am unable to use the WPBakery Page Builder with WPML, which is crucial for my site. The site contains many professional legal terms, and I prefer to translate most content myself, using only the language switcher.
Symptoms:
The footer is the same in both languages. WPBakery Page Builder is not working with WPML.
Questions:
How can I make the footer different for each language?
Is it possible to have separate pages or links for the second language?
How can I resolve the issue with WPBakery Page Builder not working with WPML?
Is there a way to use only the language switcher and translate content manually?
Alternatively, you can go to WPML > Translation Management. Select the page you want to manually translate, check the box next to it, and at the bottom, choose "Duplicate" for the language you want to duplicate the page into. Then, click the "Duplicate" button.
After that, select the other language from the top black bar. Go to "Pages," find the duplicated page, hover your mouse over it, and click "Edit" with WPBakery.
This way, you should be able to edit the page with WP Bakery, and you can change the content however you want, alter the design, add blocks/remove blocks, etc.
The footer translation depends on how it was created. If you want, we can create a separate ticket for that specific issue; just let me know.
Per our Support Policy, we can handle only one problem per ticket.
Continuing with one issue per ticket helps supporters focus on one problem at once and enables other users to find solutions to their questions faster.
Just look at the footer on the website, I translated properly according to the instructions and it's amazing that he translated only one string and not the others.
I think you were able to duplicate the page successfully.
From what I can see, you have already created separate tickets for the other issues, which is great (including a ticket for the latest question you asked in the latest reply - https://wpml.org/forums/topic/footer-translate-5/).
If the manual translation process was handled successfully in this ticket, can you please mark it as resolved?
