This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is using WPML with Elementor Pro on a WordPress site and needs to synchronize an updated Elementor structure from the original language (PT-PT) to all existing translations in six languages, without losing the translated text content. The client has 92 locations (custom post type) already translated into six languages. The 'Duplicate' option is not viable as the translated pages already exist, and the Advanced Translation Editor only syncs text strings, not the Elementor container structure.
Solution:
Initially, the WPML support team suggested that the layout/structure synchronization from the default language should work automatically while the translated texts are handled via the Advanced Translation Editor. However, the client decided to switch to the Classic version of WPML, which resolved the issue. The client is now manually checking each location page to ensure everything is properly set up.

Hi,
I'm using WPML with Elementor Pro on a WordPress site with 6 languages (PT-PT as main language, plus EN, FR, DE, IT, ES).
I have 92 locations (custom post type) already created and translated in all 6 languages. I've updated the Elementor structure on the PT-PT (original) pages and need to push the new Elementor layout/structure to all existing translations without losing the already translated text content.
The "Duplicate" option is not viable because the translated pages already exist. The Advanced Translation Editor only syncs text strings — it does not copy the updated Elementor container structure to existing translations.
What is the correct workflow to synchronize an updated Elementor structure from the original language to all existing translations in bulk, without losing translated text?

Thank you.

Hi, I need to speak with a human support specialist.
Summary of my issue: I have 92 locations (custom post type) built with Elementor Pro, translated into 6 languages with WPML. I updated the Elementor structure on the PT-PT (original) pages and need to push the new _elementor_data structure to all existing translations without losing translated text content and without creating duplicate pages.
_elementor_data is set to Copy in Custom Fields Translation. The Advanced Translation Editor translates texts correctly but does not overwrite the existing Elementor structure on translated pages.
I need a bulk solution for 92 pages × 6 languages = 552 pages.

Hello,

Thank you for your patience

What you’re describing should normally work out of the box, the layout/structure from the default language should sync to the translations, while translated texts are handled via the Advanced Translation Editor.

To better understand why this is not happening in your case, could you please share a bit more detail:

- What exact changes did you make in the default (PT-PT) pages? (e.g. new sections, widgets, template changes, etc.)
- What do you currently see on the translated pages, and how does it differ from what you expect?
- Are these pages using Elementor templates (global sections, templates, etc.)? If yes, are those templates also translated?

If possible, please also share 1–2 example pages (original + translation) so we can compare.

Kind regards,
Dražen

Hi Dražen,

Thank you for your follow-up and for taking the time to look into this.

In the meantime, I decided to switch to the Classic version of WPML, and things are working well now. I'm currently going through the location pages one by one to make sure everything is properly set up, and I'm almost done.

Given this, feel free to close this ticket. If I need any further assistance, I'll reach out again.

Thanks again for your support!

Best regards
