Background of the issue:
I am trying to edit a translated page using Elementor. We create all translations manually by either duplicating the original page or creating a new one, then assigning the correct language and connecting it to the original via WPML. We do not use the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) or WPML’s Translation Management system. Classic Translation Editor is enabled in the settings. Link to a page where the issue can be seen in all pages: hidden link
Symptoms:
Since the most recent WPML update last week, I am seeing this warning: 'Warning: Edits you're about to make will be lost. Any changes you make will be lost the next time you send this page for translation.' This happens even though the page was never created or edited using ATE, translations were done manually, and Classic Translation Editor is active and is happening in all pages that were already uploaded.
Questions:
Why is WPML now showing this warning on manually created and previously working translations after the last update, even though we’re not using ATE or Translation Management?
How can we stop this warning from appearing and make sure WPML treats these pages as manual Elementor translations while keeping their connection to the original for the language switcher?
