I am trying to: Have my breadcrumbs all in English

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: HOME > PAGVE NAME IN ENGLISH

Instead, I got: ACCUEIL > PAGE NAME IN ENGLISH ...The first part of my breadcrumbs have changed to French as default. All on their own – I have made no changes so this must have been introduced with an update or something. Looking at the string translation area a lot of the English has now become French

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support forum.
Before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

Your site's default language is English, and the string "Accueil" has the English language too. So WPML is not translating this string on the front end as the language of this string is English.

You simply need to go to the Yoast setting and change the value of "Accueil" to an actual English word then translate it to other languages. It should work.

Thanks

Hello,

String from Themes and Plugins are often always registered first in English.

Please follow this guide and let us know if you need further assistance:

Best regards
Andreas

I did what you suggested and at first it worked but now it seems to have changed itself to Spanish. This definitely seems like a bug

This is after Sumit's suggestion of manually changing the Yoast settings and changing the defaults back to English (how did they get changed in the first place?) and then following Andreas's suggestion.

It is usually expected, that plugins register their strings in the source language English.

In this case, you need to assign those strings to the Portuguese source language.

Please give this a try.
