It is the password in the email for the VPN certificate. Once we escalate this issue, we will need to continue requesting this each time a developer needs access, which is why I think having a staging site on our side will make things much easier and faster to resolve. The best way to do that is to use a plugin such as Updraft. You can then send me the links to the database download, plugins, themes, etc and I can upload them to a staging site using the same plugin. You can send the download links via Dropbox or Google Drive. I have attempted to restore sites from a database dump but lots of times things go wrong due to URLs in the database needing to be updated, which is why the plugin works best.

Hello Lauren,
I have shared both zip file (db dump) and google drive folder of the backup created with updraft to your email.
Do let me know if there is any other assistance required. I hope you can now get to the bottom of the issue.

Thanks for sending the files. I was able to use the backup to set up a copy of your site and I can see that essential is missing from Taxonomy Translation. I"ll work here on a solution and once I find one, I'll share it so we can make the same updates to your live site. I hope to have more information for you soon.

I have set up a sandbox site so we can test on a clean install and see if the same behavior happens there. Please use this link to install a copy of the plugin:
hidden link
I read through the documentation from Real Cookie Banner and it looks like the plugin instructs you to use the language switcher at the top of your admin to change languages and translate the cookies, which seems like the same steps you have already taken. However, I will be happy to take a look once it is installed on the clean install and we can ask our compatibility team to look into it as well. This is why I need a copy of it installed on our sandbox site, so that I can escalate a clean version to our compatibility team if needed.
If you are unable to install a copy there, let me know and we can reach out to the author and request a copy of the plugin, I was just thinking it may save us time if you can upload the plugin on this sandbox site.

Thank you for adding the plugin. I can see on the sandbox site that it is working as expected and you can translate the Essential term from WPML -> Taxonomy Translations. I'm reaching out to our second tier support to try and determine why it's not showing in the copy of your site that we have for testing. I will report back here as soon as I have more information.

I have escalated this to our 2nd Tier Support team. I will be working with the developers to find the cause and resolution and will keep you updated here. Thanks for your patience while we continue to troubleshoot.

Please be sure to make a full backup of your site and database.
Then, go to WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting.
Look for 'Clean up' and click the following:
- Synchronize posts taxonomies (for cookies)
- Clear the cache in WPML
- Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
- Fix element_type collation
- Set language information
- Synchronize local job IDs
- Fix Terms count
- Fix post assignment for translations
This resolved it on the test site, please let me know if it resolves it on the live site as well.

I watched the recording, but after the steps I didn't see if you checked WPML -> Taxonomy Translations to see if the Essential term shows there. Please send a screenshot of what you see there please.

Hello Lauren,
Yes, I am now able to translate the essential term shown in WPML -> Taxonomy Translations. However the old Notwendig (translation of essential) still remains. And, there is no option to delete the old Notwendig.
I was able to set up new German translation for the English Essential category and the respective services within it. But I need to delete the old Notwendig. Please see the screenshot below
I look forward to your reply.

You may need to ask the plugin author how to best remove the essential term, because the plugin does not allow the essential term to be deleted. The same thing shows in English. However, you can try removing it manually from the database if you have access. Just be sure you have a full backup of your site before removing or making changes. THen, you could run a search on your database for the term and the one with the lower element ID should be the first one that you created manually.
