can only be done, if they all share the same source language
filtering by the page type i want to translate and source language should return only pages that are in the source language English, and should allow me to translate all these in bulk, but even when filters are applied, ATE in bulk in translation management does not work
wpml support previously mentioned on the same iisue, ATE only works when all to be translated in bulk items are in the source language. the filters are set accordingly as you can undoubtedly see in the image above. source language is english, so all listings in English that are not yet translated should be shown
however, as you see here, there seems to be a bug in the WPML filtering system, as the bulk ATE option remains greyed out, even though the filter was set.
So, please provide your comments on the following thoughts:
- is the WPML bulk translation management filtering option known to have a bug / poor code, or where does the issue arise from?
- since not all of these pages were submitted to the website in English, is there are bulk option to set the source language of all these types of pages to English? or will all of them have to adjusted manually (there are hundreds)
Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.
1. As I know, it's not a bug or poor code. The translation management table also lists the translated pages in English (for example German > English). It does not show only the pages in the original language English. That's why you can see the German language and automatic translation options are greyed out.
2. If the original language of some pages is not in English, you can select the option "Assign to a translator" and send the jobs to translation. From WPML > Translations > Take the job and open Advanced Translation Editor (ATE). In ATE, you can translate the content automatically there.
Is there a bulk option to set the source language of all these types of pages to English?
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme to change configurations on the site if needed. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
Look forward to your reply.
Thanks
