I am trying to stop the UX Builder changes and updates on certain pages to affect the translated pages in AR language which sometimes automatically switch back to default in English.
I fix this manually every time by automatically retranslating the page for layout purposes and then I use the UX builder to replace the content with the proper Arabic translation.
Sometimes I used the Advanced Translation Editor. Not sure on which pages.
I saw later in the forum that it is recommended to only use one form of translation:
The website is now built and I am not sure which pages used both forms together but I have automatic translations selected as a mode but always OFF (paused) and would like to only continue editing translations via the UX Builder only with manual translations.
Is it safe to swicth now from Mode: Translate Automatically to Translate what you Choose mode? I am concerned about switching modes and losing the translations and all the Arabic versions on the site.
But I also need to keep making changes using the UX Builder moving forward and occasionally using the automatic translations.
What is the best way to go about this to fix the issue? I just would like for when I use UX Builder to make changes on an EN page, that the AR page stays intact.
Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with the first debugging steps and try to help with the issue quickly.
You should not mix translation methods, so in your case, if you are going to manually edit translated pages you should switch to WP editor.
You can not use automatic translation and do changes manually, since whenever automatic translation is done / WPML editor is used all changes done manually before, will be gone.
Yes, you can also choose to Translate some mode, this will not cause any issues.
Hope this helps.
