[Resolved] Hello, I need help with my WPML translation plugin
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client was experiencing an issue where text was displayed twice in the Blog section of their website instead of having a herobanner and text. This duplication occurred even after changing themes and disabling WPML, suggesting that the problem might not be related to WPML. Solution: We investigated the issue by replicating the site in a local testing environment. After thorough examination, it was discovered that the duplicated text was manually added in the backend. Specifically, the text was found in the navigation menu editor at
. To resolve the issue, the client needs to access this URL, click the three vertical dots icon next to the problematic text, and select "remove" to delete the duplicated content.
If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
I bought WPML translator to translate my website from English to Romanian. In the Blog section, the text appears 2 times instead of having a herobanner and text. Here is the link to the page where the issue can be seen: hidden link
Symptoms:
The text is displayed 2 times in the Blog section instead of having a herobanner and text.
Questions:
Why is the text displayed 2 times in the Blog section?
How can I fix the issue of the text appearing twice instead of having a herobanner and text?
The issue might be related to something else here.
From what I can see, you purchased the "Multilingual Blog" membership which doesn't come with "WPML String Translation" or "WPML Translation Management".
You should be able to use this current membership if you want to translate posts, pages, post types, and other types of content but if you would like to translate content that is built with a specific page builder, or if you would like to translate strings that come from a theme or a plugin, you would need to upgrade to the next tier ("Multilingual CMS") and pay the difference.
Here you can also find out more about each of the types of memberships that we have available and compare them: https://wpml.org/purchase/
After you upgrade, you should be able to find the "WPML String Translation" plugin that I mentioned inside your WPML.org account downloads section (https://wpml.org/account/downloads/). Download it and install it on your website.
My guess is that in this page you are using might have content that also comes from the theme or a page builder or another plugin that bring content inside the site.
If you want, I can take a look in the backend and see if there's anything that I can find. Please create a full website backup first and then share with me the credentials in the private fields I am enabling below in case you want me to take a closer look.
To further debug the problem Iād like to replicate your site locally.
I will need your written approval to be able to duplicate your site using a plugin called "Duplicator" and test your site on a testing environment so can you please let me know if this is ok with you?
After we find a solution for this, the duplicated site will be deleted.
Also, please create a full website backup before answering.
