[Resolved] How to delete the translation of a particular ninja form
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client needed to delete a completed French translation of a Ninja Form so that the form would only be available in the original English language on the front end. Solution: We informed the client that there is no direct way to remove a translation of a form within the WPML admin GUI. Instead, we suggested that to have the form show in English across all languages, the client should: 1. Navigate to WPML > Translation Management. 2. Select the forms they wish to change. 3. Scroll down and select the languages they want to affect. 4. Choose the "Duplicate" option. This action will duplicate the English version of the form to all the selected languages.
If this solution is not relevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hello, I've successfully created translations of some of my Ninja forms from English to French using your "Ninja Forms Multilingual" add-on and the following instructions:
(I used the "Translate the Form by Yourself" option.)
I now wish to *delete* the French translation that I created for one of these forms, so the form is only available in the original language of English.
Can you please give me step by step instructions for how to do this? I've tried various things but I can't get rid of the now-unwanted French translation.
PS I did manage to delete some as-yet incomplete translation jobs for Ninja forms that I'd created but no longer wished to complete; it's just the fully-completed translation that I can't delete.
1. Can you please let me know the exact name/shortcode of the form you are trying to delete?
2. To get things moving a bit faster, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Our Debugging Procedures
I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.
- Please make a backup of the site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box.
Hello Mihai, I don't believe there's an actual bug in play here, so I don't think it is necessary to provide access to my system just now.
I have attached a screenshot of my Translation Management panel, filtered down to the Ninja forms in my system.
As you can see, three of the forms have French translations in a "Completed" state.
I simply want to know how to delete/disable those completed translations, so that those forms always appear in English rather than French on the front end.
If there is no actual way to achieve this at present in the WPML admin GUI, please just tell me so and I will find some workaround of my own (I'm a WP dev).
And yes, it is correct, there is no way to remove the translation, only to edit it.
So, if you want to just have them show in English in all the languages, feel free to go to WPML > Translation Management > select the forms > scroll down > select the languages > select "Duplicate" and that should simply duplicate the EN version to all the languages that you selected.
I hope that you will find all this information helpful.
