This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to stop WPML from auto-translating or auto-syncing your posts. When you create a post in the default language and click the "+" button, you want it to create a new linked post in another language without forcing you to a translation page or assigning it to a translator. However, clicking the "+" button forces you to a translation page instead of opening a new post page, and you wish to update different content manually.
Solution:
To stop WPML from auto-translating or auto-syncing your posts when creating a new language page, follow these steps:
1. Go to the page and click on edit.
2. Under "Translate this page" select "WordPress editor".
3. Make sure to cancel any pending translation jobs from WPML --> Translation Management --> Jobs.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to stop WPML from auto-translating or auto-syncing my posts. When I create a post in the default language and click the "+" button, I want it to create a new linked post in another language without forcing me to a translation page or assigning it to a translator. I have tried using the 'Classic Translation Editor' but couldn't find a setting to disable the translation.

Symptoms:
When I click the "+" button, it forces me to a translation page instead of opening a new post page. I don't need translation and want to update different content manually.

Questions:
How can I stop WPML from auto-translating or auto-syncing my posts?
Is there a setting to disable the translation when creating a new language page?
