This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to proofread a specific translation using the ATE editor, but the editor fails to load the translation and hangs indefinitely. You received error messages indicating 'Auftragsdetails konnten nicht abgerufen werden' and 'Dateigrößenlimit überschritten', which suggests issues with retrieving job details and exceeding file size limits.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you try the following steps:
1. Navigate to WPML > Translation Dashboard, select your page, and assign it to translate by yourself.
2. Go to WPML > Translation, click on "Take and translate", and proceed with the translation.

These steps should help resolve the loading issue with the ATE editor. If the problem persists, it might be due to the translation job no longer existing or a new translation job having been started.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If these steps do not resolve your issue, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to proofread a specific translation using the ATE editor. The translation is located at: hidden link. I clicked on 'edit translation' to load the editor.

Symptoms:
The ATE editor fails to load the translation and hangs indefinitely. I received an error message: 'Auftragsdetails konnten nicht abgerufen werden' and 'Dateigrößenlimit überschritten'.

Questions:
Why does the ATE editor fail to load the translation?
What does the error message 'Dateigrößenlimit überschritten' mean?

I increased max_input_vars to 10000 and upload_max_filesize to 64M. Neither makes the error go away.

I have to say, WPML is ridiculously buggy. These nuissances happen at every turn.

Hello,

it might be the translation job does not exist anymore, or new translation job was started.

Please try next:

- Go to WPMl > Translation Dashboard > Select your page and assign to translate it by yourself.
- Go to WPMl > Translation > Click "Take and translate" and translate it.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Drazen

Thanks . This solved it. Although the underlying issue is clearly a bug, not an error on my side.
