For example I'd like to tell WPML that everytime it sees this external link "hidden link" in an english-translated page it should be translated as "hidden link"

I tried manually editing every string translation, but it's dozens of the same link, and every time I edit a page and re-translate the whole thing, this work is canceled

Hi Xavier,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.

I'm afraid that currently, there isn't a way to translate the external URL automatically. The URL is hidden in the Advanced Translation Editor and you can search with a keyword and translate it. Refer documentation https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks
