Background of the issue:
I installed WPML and the plugins it recommended on my site hidden link.
Symptoms:
Installing WPML broke my site. The homepage is missing, and pages are missing. I can't access my pages, even though it shows the page count: All (32) | Published (22) | Drafts (10)
English (3) | Hebrew (0) | All languages (3
Questions:
How can I fix my site after installing WPML?
What steps should I take to restore my homepage and menu?
It was working, but I uninstalled it and used a new theme and reinstalled, the requirements were the same and it used to work, I do not believe it is the requirements, I believe it is a setting or something as the site is up, just missing over 30 pages and many posts.
Thank you for reaching out to WPML support. While one of my colleagues picks up this ticket, Iād like to provide some initial debugging steps to see if I can assist you right away.
Please make sure to back up your site first, then try the following troubleshooting steps from the WPML dashboard:
-Clear the cache in WPML
-Remove ghost entries from translation tables
-Fix element_type collation
-Fix WPML tables collation
-Set language information
-Fix terms count
-Fix post type assignment for translations
You can find all these options by going to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting Link.
After running the steps above, please check again to see if the missing pages or posts reappear. Let us know the outcome!
Thanks, but it would help if you wrote, "go to WPML > Support and under the x tab, click y)
I have not found a cache in any ofthe WPML menus. My site has been down since last week.
I looked atthe logs it said can't find site key. I added it.
Hiw can I add it again?
The instruction that were sent to me 30 minutes ago are not helpful at all! Can I get real support?
Api error missing resource: No sitekey found for this website 0 0 {"errorData":{"status":400,"title":"Api error missing resource","detail":"No sitekey found for this website"}}
BUT, when I try and register, it says:
WPML is registered on this site. Your Lifetime account gives you updates for life.
In the instructions you sent, the bottom has the path to the page to make the troubleshooting, instead of the top! I got as far as Fix element type collation and it is taking around 15 minutes and still spinning. I can't get past it.
Now I get this message and I have no idea what it means.
Change the field group translation setting
You can translate field labels and labels for Choices using String Translation. To do this, set the field group post type to Not Translatable.
Thanks for your reply. I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
ā To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
