This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You need an easy way to display two-letter language codes (like EN and FR) instead of full language names (English or Français) in the WPML language switcher on your site.
Solution:
We recommend you go to WPML → Languages → Site Languages and click the Edit Languages button. Here, you can modify the language names to use two-letter codes as desired. For detailed guidance, please visit our documentation: Editing WPML's Languages Table.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to replace the language switcher language to say EN or FR instead of English or Français on my site hidden link.

Symptoms:
I need an easy way to have the language switcher display two-letter language codes.

Questions:
Is there an easy way to have the language switcher use two-letter language codes? (like EN and FR?) We think this would stand out better in our menu.
