[Closed] Issue with Homepage Language Redirection in WPML

Background of the issue:
I am experiencing an issue with my homepage when using the WPML plugin. When I activate the Spanish language and attempt to view the homepage, it redirects me to the English homepage instead. Here is the login detail:

Symptoms:
On the homepage, when I select Spanish from the language switcher in the footer, the site redirects me back to the English version automatically. This issue only occurs on the homepage. Other pages switch languages correctly.

Questions:
Why does the homepage redirect to the English version when I select Spanish from the language switcher?
How can I resolve the issue of the homepage not switching to Spanish?
