Thanks for your reply. Could you check your staging site? It's not loading for me and I'm getting this critical error as shown in the attached screenshot.

Can you send a private message again so we can provide new information for new clone version. Developers from Updraft are setting thigs since its a large website and they need to assist on this.

Thank you for your patience. I’ve received feedback from our 2nd Tier Support, and here’s what was shared:

The issue is occurring because the admin user you provided already has the Translate capability assigned. This is visible in the attached screenshot from their profile settings. Removing this capability should resolve the issue.

You can do this using a role editor plugin or by directly editing the user’s data in the database via Adminer. Please proceed with caution if editing the database directly, as the capability is stored in a serialized array.

Hi Kor,

What’s the update on this?
We’re experiencing many problems with WPML, and it’s now been over a month and a half since we started correspondence with Iftar. For the past two weeks, we’ve continued the case with your team, but we’re still facing the same issues.

Is the problem really this complex? What do you recommend as the best solution moving forward?

We urgently need a clear answer or plan, as this is affecting job applications and website functionality.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,

Thanks for your reply. Did you read the reply here? https://wpml.org/forums/topic/issue-with-new-updated/#post-17002745 . Our 2nd Tier Support provided a solution to fix the "adding translator" issue.

We informed our developer, but there's still a problem — the translated job application forms stopped working on our website.

Here are some examples:

Dutch: hidden link

German: hidden link

The forms work fine in Danish, English, and Norwegian, but not in Dutch, German, or Finnish.

Please check and let us know how to fix this as soon as possible.

Best regards,

We understand the issue is due to the admin user having the Translate capability assigned. However, this is preventing us from seeing who is working on what translation, which is causing confusion.

Can you please clarify:

Why does this capability block visibility into translation assignments?

If we remove it, will we still be able to manage and review all translations properly?

Is there a recommended setup for admin users so we can monitor progress without issues?

We want to fix this but also need full visibility into the translation workflow.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Also, the person in charge of translations can no longer assign tasks to others because she no longer has admin access. This is making it even harder to manage translations effectively.

Thanks for your reply.

It looks like you're seeking help with another issue with the "translated job application forms stopped working". I've split the ticket here https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translated-job-application-forms-stopped-working-on-our-website/ so that we could follow up.

As for your remaining questions regarding the translator capabilities, I will try to answer accordingly.

Why does this capability block visibility into translation assignments?
Our 2nd Tier support mentioned that they are not sure of the root cause and why these admin users were previously assigned with "translate" capability.

If we remove it, will we still be able to manage and review all translations properly?
Yes, you need to remove it so that you can add the translators to the list of translators

Is there a recommended setup for admin users so we can monitor progress without issues?
All translations from translators will be recorded and listed in the translation jobs in WPML > Translation Management > Translation Jobs Tab.

We want to fix this but also need full visibility into the translation workflow.
I hope the above explanation clarifies this question too.

Just to inform you, we have removed the code, but we are still unable to add our colleague as an administrator. She does not appear in the list as a translation manager. She can now be added to translations, but that's the only area where access works.

It seems the plugin is simply not functioning properly. We also had to ask our developer to write custom code to make the forms work on the translated versions of the website.

This has been quite frustrating and disappointing.

Thank you for your reply.

Could you please update your credentials here using the private reply option so I can take a closer look or escalate the issue further if needed? Also, kindly let me know which user you're still having trouble adding as a translator.

I understand how frustrating this must be, especially after having to implement custom code just to get the forms working. I truly appreciate your patience, and I’ll do my best to assist you in resolving this as smoothly as possible.
