How to change the default location in English to en global, not just en us. Because I want my default language English to correspond to the global English search audience, not just the American English search audience

You should be able to adapt this value and save the page.

Anyhow, I have honestly never heard of such a global default locale, as this value always refers to a specific country unless you use only "en", which would be a valid value.

The issue is in WordPress "en" is not used, this is why by default we have to use "en_US", but this is more a WordPress topic and not really WPML related.

Also, take note that some default locales can be WordPress-specific as they are used for obtaining language files for WordPress and its themes and plugins:
