Background of the issue:
I am trying to make The Events Calendar work in the Danish version, but the hyperlink is broken. I referred to the open discussion about a similar issue: https://wpml.org/errata/the-events-calendar-incorrect-link-format-with-custom-slug-translations/, but the fix there is not working in our case. The page is business critical. The issue can be seen at: hidden link

Symptoms:
Instead of the expected URL format, I got: hidden link?:month|mned|måned)/2025-01/&shortcode=f0b1cb7d

Questions:
Why is the hyperlink broken in the Danish version of The Events Calendar?
Why is the fix from the WPML discussion not working in our case?

It seems one of the slugs from the events calendar is causing the problem when translated. I went through all translations of the faulty word "month" and removed the translated versions. Then start translating them one by one until the faulty one broke the links again. I had to resave permalinks after every translation.
