I am trying to filter a Loop Grid based on a custom field ("Book of the Bible"). In English, there are 30 records found when filtering with "Psalms" but in German, only 6 records are found.

Is there a similar example that we can see? There are several examples of differences between the results as well as several examples in which the results of a German search and English search are the same.

I have also seen that WPML's Osama Mersal had a similar issue named "FIlter works in dutch, but partially words in English, GErma and Frech)" and his solution was "I installed a local copy of your site and found that the filters work correctly when deleting the translation for the "wpc_filter_permalinks". " I tried to follow the solution, but the element that he described was not present

In the screenshot that I sent, the items marked in green have the same number of search results in both English and German, all the others have a different number of search results in English and German.

Were you able to distinguish between the examples with correct and incorrect results? Is it possible that something has been NOT translated into German and the results are different?

Would the results be the same if you temporarily deactivate all plugins except for WPML and Jet plugins?

Please make sure to back up your database before making any changes.

Hi Andrey,
Yes, the problem is that I have compared records that do NOT appear in the search with ones that DO appear, and I can't see the difference. I have tried to re-translate them and re-apply the value that is being filtered. I just don't see the difference.
As for the plugins, there are other people working on the site at the moment, so I can't do that yet.

This seems like a problem that others have encountered (as I mentioned the WPML item that Osama worked). Are there troubleshooting steps? I'd be glad to follow a process if it exists

Regarding the ticket that was handled by Osama at https://wpml.org/forums/topic/filter-works-in-dutch-but-partially-words-in-english-germa-and-frech/#post-14603815, it seems that the user does not have JetSmartFilters plugin installed. Due to this, it is normal that the "wpc_filter_permalinks" entry is not present on your installation.

Could you please let me know how it goes if you create a new test filter?

Thanks for checking, Andrey. So that solution won't work in my case. I will create a new test filter as you have suggested. I have also just tried to create another record that has values that match one of the records that is NOT found by the German filter. And I used WPML to translate the record into German. The new record is found in the English search, but not in the German search. That surprised me. So whatever problem we have is still there. Anyway, I will create the new test filter and check

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, please check with the new filter. If there is still the issue, I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site – preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible – in order to be of better help. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Please guide me regarding the issue on your site (where the filters you created, how you translated them, where the issue is on the site).

Thanks for the update. The /wp-admin/ log in doesn't work (404 error). Could you please check this?

Hang on, Andrey. I'm seeing an error on the Recitation Videos page. I'll let you know when it is resolved. In the meantime, please check that the login credentials work for you. It is just the Videos page that is having the problem

Hi Andrey, for that 404 page there is a "Login" link at the top. Clicking "Login" will get you to the login page where you can enter the credentials that I provided. However, over the weekend I have re-built the custom post type to use taxonomies instead of the custom fields. I was never able to get the custom fields to return complete results in my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th languages when using the Jet Smart filter. With the taxonomies, however, the results are perfect. The problem with the custom fields still exists and if you are able to find a solution for that, it will help for our next phase of website development--and hopefully help others as well.

Thank you for the update, Tom. I was able to log in after my second attempt by using the login link on the 404 page. I appreciate you sharing the workaround for the issue. I also noticed that some open items need to be addressed in order to improve the compatibility between WPML and JetSmartFilters plugins. Have a nice week!

That the items reported earlier by the users. But you can help to replicate the current issue you have faced. I created a staging site. If you have spare time, please try to recreate it on the fresh installation.
