Hello, on our pre-production website, we are currently experiencing a problem with the language switcher.
After configuration in BO, it is displayed in the "Change language" menu, but its configuration does not persist. It seems that when you make contributions in BO, the language switcher disappears and comes back.
A bug that we've managed to reproduce is: after configuring and checking that it works on the FO side, when you go back into the WPML stettings, the switcher configuration "disappears" when you delete it from the FO.
We don't understand why this only happens on our pre-production environment (everything works fine locally).
Is it possible to give us some food for thought or to help us debug?
I'm having trouble fully grasping the steps to reproduce the issue. Could you provide a screencast or detailed steps to help me understand better?
As far as I understand, if you've created a language switcher, deleting it from WPML->Languages will remove it from both languages. With WPML's native language switcher, having it in one language means it will appear in all languages.
Sorry for the misunderstanding : We don't delete the language switch. It disapears by itself.
Steps to reproduce :
- Go to "WPML > Languages and set a language switcher ;
- Navigate to the front : Everything's fine (the language switcher is here and it works)
- Navigate to the admin (anywhere except the WPML menu and submenus)
- Navigate to the front : Everything's still fine (the language switcher is here and it works)
- Navigate to any pages relative to WPML in the admin (for exemple "WPML > Languages")
- Navigate to the front : The language switcher has disappeared.
When we create add a traduction by using the "+" on the "pages > all pages" screen, we are able to create the traduction, but there isn't relation with this traduction and the original page.
We have to establish the relation a posteriori.
is this a brand new WPML environment or does it have existing translations already?
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)
