This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client created a WordPress Archive using Toolset and translated various elements using WPML. However, the page layout appears different between the English and German versions, despite identical settings in Astra for both languages.
Solution:
We recommended the client to clear all caches, especially the CSS cache managed by WP Rocket, to ensure that all styles load correctly. This approach helped align the layouts in both languages.

Hi Support

I have created a WordPress Archive using Toolset.

I proceeded to translate
- all the strings using [wpml-string]
- the related taxonomy City using WPML > Taxonomy Translation.
- the slug using WPML > String Translation.

In English, the layout is as expected, (hidden link) but in German (hidden link), everything shows translated correctly, but the page layout is different/changed. What can be the reason for this?!

I checked the Astra settings > Customise > Custom Post Type > Billboards > Archive Billboards (starting with the WPML flag in English), verified all the settings were as I wanted them and clicked Publish.

I repeated the same steps starting with the flag in German, (Astra settings > Customise > Custom Post Type > Plakate > Archive Plakate) and confirmed the settings were identical.

1) I cannot see where the German version is picking up its different layout from or why it would be different from the English version. (en is our default primary language, de is translated secondary language)
2) When I go to WPML > Translation Management and filter on WordPress Archives, the list is also empty, I would expect to see some items there.

Thanks and kind regards
Simon

Hi Simon,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

Looking into the source code of both pages, I've noticed that some CSS styles (specifically the styles needed for the column classes e.g. 'col-md-4') are not getting loaded for the English version of the page.

Have you tried checking the page after clearing all involved caches? It would be a good idea to also test this with all code optimization plugins temporarily disabled.

I hope this helps and let me know how it goes.

regards,
Waqar

Hi Waqar

Thanks for the tip about the CSS, when I cleared the Used CSS by WP Rocket Cache, both layouts ended up like the "wrong" German one, which led me back to the structure of the content in Loop Editor. I managed to rearrange it there correctly in the Bootstrap containers...

Any ideas on my question 2? When I go to WPML > Translation Management and filter on WordPress Archives, the list is also empty, I would expect to see some items there.

Thanks and best regards
Simon

Hi Waqar

One other tiny point: do you know offhand why I have this WPML symbol/menu in my admin bar? It is always empty when I hover over it, and the menu contains no items. I would like to get rid of it if it doesn't hold anything useful.

Thanks and kind regards
Simon

Hi Waqar

I'm happy for this one to be closed too.

Thanks for your help.

FYI: you might wanna raise this with your devs for the WPML site, when closing a ticket, it is no longer possible to choose an option from the "How your issue was resolved"?

Kind regards
Simon
