This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with the Ultimate Member plugin for the login and register pages, which are not working for the French language, resulting in a 'too many redirects' error.

Solution:
First, we recommend taking a full backup of the website and database. If possible, perform the following steps on a staging or development site:

1. Deactivate all plugins except WPML and Ultimate Member to check if the issue persists.
2. Reactivate each plugin one by one, checking the issue after each activation to identify any conflicts.
3.

If the problem remains, repeat the steps using a default WordPress theme.
If the issue is not resolved, follow these steps:
1. Go to the settings page in the default language.
2. Select the login page in the default language and save.
3. Switch to the secondary language from the top admin bar.
4. Select the login page in the secondary language and save.
5. Check if the issue is resolved.

If the problem still exists, we suggest contacting the plugin author to request a compatibility update and refer them to the WPML documentation for developers at https://wpml.org/documentation/support/ and https://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/. They can also join the WPML Go Global program at https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket at our support forum.

Hi,

Welcome to the WPML support forum. Thanks for contacting us.

We are currently handling a high amount of ticket and while waiting for one of my colleagues to help with this ticket, I noticed that you shared your credentials on the public forum. I removed them but for security reasons, please delete that account or at least change its password as soon as possible. If my colleague needs access to your site he will activate a private field where you will be able to share this information safely.

Also, we would need your WPML debug information.
Ref: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

In short:
- Go to "WPML > Support > Debug Information" (link)
- Copy the Debug Information from there.
- Find the private field I activated and paste that information.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support.

I see "too many redirects" error at hidden link. In fact there are too many 302 redirects, you can find detailed report at hidden link.

On the other hand, the said plugin "Ultimate Member", isn't on our compatibility list (https://wpml.org/plugin/?wpv_view_count=120064&wpv-plugin-functionality=0&wpv_post_search=Ultimate+Member&wpv-wpcf-recommendation-flag=&wpv_filter_submit=Search).

By default, here you can find how to "Translate WordPress Login and Registration Pages" https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-wordpress-login-and-registration-pages/.

However, before proceeding further, may I ask you to try the following?

IMPORTANT: Take full backup of your website and database beforehand. It is highly advised to try the following on a staging/dev site first, so your live website isn't compromised.

- Deactivate all plugins except WPML and Ultimate Member and check for the issue.
- Activate each plugin one-by-one, while keeping check on the issue after a plugin is activated. This way you'll be able to pinpoint a plugin having a conflict (or problem), if any.
- If the problem persists, repeat the above steps with a default theme of WordPress (i.e. 2021 or 2023).

Please let me know and I'll try my best to help you further on the matter.

Regards.

Thank you for the updates.

Can you try these steps:

- Go to that settings page in default language.
- Select the login page in default language.
- Save.
- Switch to secondary language from top admin bar.
- Select the login page in secondary language.
- Save.
- And see if it works?

if that doesn't work, I recommend you to contact the plugin author and request a compatibility update. WPML offers very useful information for developers aiming to make their themes/plugins compatible. Please see https://wpml.org/documentation/support/ and https://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/ for details.

Theme and plugin authors are welcome to join WPML’s Go Global program, which helps them make their code multilingual ready. Together with WPML’s compatibility team, they can test and confirm that their theme or plugin works with WPML. See https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/ for details and you can refer your theme/plugin provider to this as well.
