I am trying to: Work with staging

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: n/a

I expected to see: Expected to find a migration code to satisfy WPML

Instead, I got: I get stuck at the 3rd question

I can no longer access my staging via Elementor. I suspect WPML is responsible for it.

"The access to that page has been restricted by the administrator of this website"

when I click on "this link" on the 3rd step, it bring me up to Translation Management -> Tools, but I can't see any Migration Code there.

Hi there,

Please go to WPML->Translation Management->Tools and share with me a screenshot of what you see in that screen on the staging site.

Also, go to WPML->Support->Troubleshooting and share with me your "Your Automatic Translation account id "

Thank you, I have located your site in our system and this staging site is using the same ID as the live site which is why it is asking for the migration code.

If you go to hidden link WPML->Translation management do you not currently see the tools tab? Please see more information on how to connect the 2 sites here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/

If that still does not work

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.

Thank you,
Bobby

Okay, if I go into the production site, yes I have access to Tools. Now, what should I do there?

Typically you would go to the new site's WPML->TM->Tools are and click on copy migration code then take that and add it under connected sites area in the live site.

However, this has recently changed and this is where that link comes in play in the warning, but for your environment, it's not working.

Our team will need to take a closer look at this.

First do this :

In your staging site select "Yes" in the notice, and then go through it and close the notice without trying to connect the sites.

once that is done you should be able to see the tools area.

if that does not happen, Is it possible to provide me with access to the staging site?

I would prefer you take a look, cause I don't think you understand the situation here. There's nothing like seeing it yourself.

Follow the pop up steps:

- Click on Yes/This is only a copy - the original site is still running
- Click on You will need to assign credits or set up a pay-as-you-go plan for this site to use automatic translation

Then you will get this message:
"This copy of the site has the same content as the original site on hidden link, but it doesn’t have credits for automatic translation."

Once that is done I can manually connect the 2 sites for you from our side 🙂

OR you can follow the steps in my previous documentation to connect them manually without having to follow the link.

NOTE: Your site is now connected and shares the same credits. You should be good to go now.

P.S. In the future please do not share the access details outside of the private window as our team cannot use them and it also poses a security threat to you since this is a public forum. I recommend to change the password or remove the user account as soon as possible.
