We are needing our affiliate links, currently used with Refersion to link to our website.
Here is an example of an affiliate link: hidden link
When copied into a url, this link only displays a white page. It does not take you to the homepage within your country region like it does with all of the others.
Noman helped me the other day which was great. His instruction was to turn off the
'Use directory for default language' - setting.
This worked well and allowed our affiliate links to work.
However, it created a different issue in our homepage disappearing and being replaced with a blog post, potentially because it was the closest page to what the link was searching for??
Turning this setting back on fixed the homepage issue, however we are now back to square 1 with the affiliate links not working.
I also tried turning the 'directory' setting off again, along with disabling a 'redirect' that was setup by another developer.
This again fixed both the homepage and affiliate link issues, however created a linking issue where you received a 404 error message every-time you went to view the cart of go to checkout.
Would you have any other suggestions on what we need to do to get the affiliate links working without breaking other settings?
I will attach some screenshots so you can see the current settings including the redirect.
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
First of all, sorry for the late reply due to a higher workload. I tried reproducing the issues you mentioned, but the affiliate link and cart pages worked correctly. (Kindly check this hidden link)
Would you please let me know the steps to reproduce the issue?
Best regards,
Osama
