As mentioned on another ticket (https://wpml.org/forums/topic/automatic-translation-of-products-not-translating-media-title-alt/) we're just starting automatic product translation, using your deepl service, one by one, to find any issues.

Our products are normally created in Portuguese and then we create duplicates for Spanish for later processing. This allows us to keep working on the original product and have the changes automatically propagated to the Spanish version, before we decide to actually translate it (in this case using your paid service).

Portuguese: hidden link
Spanish: hidden link

The problem is that on Translation Management we have no way to filter those, as the Duplicated are show as "Complete" when filtering: hidden link

We need to have a way to filter those which are actually translated from those which WPML "thinks" are translated because they're duplicates from the original.

Setting them as "translate independently" one by one is not an option. We're talking about thousands of products here, and when we automatic translate them, WPML takes care of "releasing" them from that "duplicate" status, which is great.

Hello again,

At the moment there is no feature that would allow us to distinguish the difference as in the eyes of the software and for translation purposes, these are "translated" items even though they are duplicates.

One way to do this would be to bulk automatically translate your products, if the product is already translated then it will not double charge and only get charged for translating the products that were once duplicated.

Is it not something you could plan on doing: being able to filter them separately?

Yes, that is a great suggestion, and I have added your request as a feature request for our team to review and consider for future releases of WPML.

Please do note that our team will thoroughly review all feature requests but I can not guarantee that it will be implemented or when it will be.
