This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to see certain German (DE) language strings on their site unless the option 'Look for strings while pages are rendered' was activated. This issue was linked to a conflict with an old custom language that shared the same language code (de_DE) as the new one.

Solution:
Client resolved it by deleting the conflicting old custom language. After removing it, the client needed to go into one string from a domain and resave it in the German language.

Additionally, we suggested checking other methods to bring strings into String Translation without relying on the 'Look for strings while pages are rendered' option. You can find more details in our guide on finding strings that don't appear on the String Translation page.

Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and trying to ensure that all language strings are properly translated. Specifically, I am focusing on the German (DE) language strings.

Symptoms:
One of my site's German (DE) language strings isn't showing. It only works correctly when I activate 'Look for strings while pages are rendered'.

Questions:
What might cause the German (DE) language strings not to show unless 'Look for strings while pages are rendered' is activated?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support.

I'll recommend checking the other methods mentioned in this guide and see if you can bring those strings into String Translation, without using 'Look for strings while pages are rendered'.

Please let me know and I'll try my best to help you further on the matter.

Regards.

Hi.

I solved the issue it was tied to an old custom language that had the same language information (de_DE) as my new one.

I deleted the language and then just went into one string from a domain and resaved it in that language.
