Hello,

thanks again for your patience.

1. Why do I have to translate the same thing 100 times? See the screenshots attached. Some of those strings are already translated, but still, they reappear in the list.

2. Also, yesterday, I translated the content using Elementor Editor, and today when I was checking something on my pages, I observed that the translation disappeared, I had to load it from revisions.

3. I have removed the template you were talking about. (Home-12.02.2024)

This is one of our company's websites, luckily only has 2 pages, but we have more websites with multiple pages and blog articles etc. that need to be modified...it will take a lot of time to update if WPML makes things so difficult 🙁

Hi Carmen,

You don't need to do the same thing 100 times, could you help me understanding better the
steps you are following in translating the website with a video (you can use loom.com or monosnap.com)?

Normally you would need to translate the button with the styles from WPML -> String Translation.

Looking forward to your reply,
Marsel

I translated in Elementor Editor, here you can see: hidden link

Normally you would need to translate the button with the styles from WPML -> String Translation --------------- I have the same button multiple times in strings. If I add one to another page, one more string appears, as shown in the print screens I have already sent

Hi,

Thank you for the video.

Normally if you edit the Elementor page, you should change the element content and not the Html code of it.

I notice that you are not making use of the Global Widgets from Elementor which would be helpful to properly manage different sections of the website (as for example the footer which is part of every page on the website).

The result you are seeing is expected as for now you are adding the same element on different pages and on each page its unique, even though as a content and layout is might be the same.

If you check the images you sent me previously, you'll notice that the domain is different for each button (elementor-672 and elementor-13, even they have the same content/layout), that meaning that they are unique to the website page where they are being added/created on.

* The buttons you are using are HTML elements, so you'll need to translate them on WPML -> String Translation. Depending on the usage of those elements then you can create templates to be used multiple times in different sections of the website and you translate them only once (as the example of the footer I mentioned above).

* From the video I noticed that you are using a different domain from the one I have access, also some of the links on the website (like the button "Services") takes you to another domain as well.

Let me know if you have further questions,
Marsel

Hi Carmen,

Could you please translate the HTML buttons from WP-Admin -> WPML -> String Translation, and see if the issue persists?

* I've searched for one of the button texts, as you can see from the image attached, only one of the buttons "PRETURI STANDARD" seems to be translated in French.

Let me know how it goes,
Marsel

Do I have to translate from String translation? Is this the best way? To translate the same button multiple times?

Why did the translation I have already made in Elementor Editor disappear from my page? Even some sections were added back...see screenshots. I am talking about the EN translation.

Looking forward to your answer! Thank you!

In your case the buttons are HTML elements and not Elementor Button widget, and it would be best to translate though WPML -> String Translation.

Please check this link for more information: hidden link

* The button "PRETURI STANDARD" wasn't translated in English before (some other buttons as well), now I see they are translated on the website: hidden link, even though on WPML String Translation are not.

Was this website translated using Automatic Translation initially or you translated the page yourself?

* If you updated the translations of the page "Home" from Elementor, that might be the reason why the translations changed and the layout as well.

Also, you previously mentioned that you restored translations from revisions, maybe that is the reason why that happened.

Is there a way to start from 0?? Seems like I did something wrong.
I can't understand why I have so many strings to translate when my website is fully translated.

The website was translated manually as far as I know.

I have restored from revision because the page I translated keeps modifying, like the example I gave you today. You told me there is no other way to update visual changes from one language to another. The same happened on my other website, the EN translations I am making in Elementor Editor keep disappearing, and the text I don't want to show on the EN version keeps reappearing.

Anyway. I think that maybe is best to start over, I don't have time to update the translations every day. What is your opinion?

Marsel Nikolli

I understand that translating the website every day it not what is expected, and not how WPML works anyway.

To further troubleshoot I would suggest you first test by following these steps:
- Checking the website on what parts are not translated
- If there are only the buttons the only elements not translated then try translating only those buttons using WPML -> String Translation

After, check if the translations disappear again and let me know.

---

I am assuming that maybe the only error might be on the way the website was first translated.
I would suggest checking our guide on using WPML with Elementor: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/

Regards,
Marsel

Hello again,

when I translate a string, the translations made on page, in the elementor editor, disappear.

Why do you think this is happening?

Thanks!

Hi,

I notice that on WPML -> String Translation if you search for the text of "REQUEST A QUOTE", and its equivalent in Romanian, you'll see that they are two different strings (as you can see on the image attached). The issue you are having might be related to that, the elements are created unique on each language an are not translations of each other.

I've setup a sandbox site on the following link (one-click login):

Could you please create a simple page with maybe just 2/3 elements (one of them being a button), same as you are doing on your website?

- WPML plugins are installed/activated, please configure them as on your website.

Try following our guide while creating and translating the pages/elements: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/#getting-started

Let me know how it goes,
Marsel
