Hello again,

We have now a new issue and there is absolutly no help in your support system.
When we install the plugin, we get now this error ( see attached) : Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

We downloaded the latest version from your website and it's still not working.

Thank you,

Hello,

Please follow the instructions mentioned on this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/
Then, try to reproduce the issue and check your installation's **wp-content** folder to see if a file named **"debug.log"** was created (it will only be generated if a server error occurs).
If the file was created, please upload it to a platform like **Google Drive** or **Dropbox** (whichever you usually use) and share the link with me (make sure it is publicly accessible) so I can analyze it.

Also, if it's possible for you, I suggest the following test for compatibility issues:
**IMPORTANT:** Please try this in a staging environment or at least with a backup of your site files and database before continuing.
Disable all plugins and temporarily change the theme to a default WordPress such as Twenty Twenty-five. Then activate WPML.
Is the issue resolved with these settings? If so, please reactivate one by one to see which conflicts.

Best Regards,
Otto

Thank you for the reply but we cannot even install the plugin to have access to the Log. Is there any other solution to identify the root cause of this issue?

Hello,

Thanks.

You don't need to have the plugin activated to follow the steps I've shared.

You need to edit the wp-config.php file to enable the debug log. Then try to activate it as you did before. It will fail again, but now we should have a more detailed error that may point us to the root cause of the problem.

It's a built in feature of WordPress, you don't need to have WPML active:
