I ran a migration from Polyland PRO to WMPL after which I received a fatal error. I restored the backup and ran the migration again with the same result. I did all the steps according to the documentation (install migration plugin -> save languages -> disable polyland -> enable WMPL).
I restored the backup again and now installed the "Query Monitor" plugin and I see that it pops up a database error "Table 'print1_printv2db.wp_icl_translations' doesn't exist".
There is a debug.log file after failed migration: hidden link
Probably, not all WPML tables were created during the WPML activation. I suggest doing the following:
– Restore your backup
– Enable WPML
– Go to WPML → Support → Troubleshooting, scroll down on the page, and choose the option to reset WPML completely
– Activate it again and check those tables (from the debug.log) in your database if they persist
– Run migration according to the documentation
I made a backup. I did not enable the migration plugin. I disabled polylang. I enabled WMPL and activated it. Unfortunately, I immediately got an error: "There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.". Debug.log file with the last error here: hidden link
The error says that tables do not exist. I assume that you restored the backup first. If still the issue, go to the database, remove all the tables that start with icl_ and then try to activate WPML again.
After restoring the backup from before trying to install WPML and migrating, I don't have any table in the database that starts with icl_ (prefixed, of course)
Thank you for the update. If you activate WPML now and check the tables. Do you see those tables you are getting reports about?
