Problem: You are trying to translate posts using WPML, but the posts are not translating as expected. Instead of seeing the translated version, the page didn't translate. Solution: We recommend updating to the latest version of WPML, specifically version 4.8.4, which includes recent bug fixes and improvements that may resolve your issue. You can find the latest version under My Account → Downloads on our website. If the update isn't visible, click the 'Check for updates' button under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial. Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate posts using WPML. Please see the video below for more details: hidden link. The issue can also be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
The posts are not translating as expected. Instead of seeing the translated version, the page didn't translate.
Questions:
Why are my posts not translating?
How can I fix the issue where the page doesn't translate?
Our set up is a subsite so I had to go to the network admin to add a new plugin; however, I couldn't find the commercial tab on the add new plugin page.
I went back to the subsite plugin page lv.uwc.org, clicked the registered button under wpml on the plugin page which took me to the installer page. I clicked unregister wpml from this site but nothing happened, it reloaded and the button still said unregister.
I went to the main uwc.org site and clicked the registered button under wpml on the plugin page and it also took me to the installer page. I clicked unregister wpml from this site and this time it unregistered.
I deleted the uwc.org key from my account and created a new one, added it on the site but the translation still didn't work.
The same thing that happened in the previous video is still happening.
I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site—preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible—in order to be of better help. When you log in to leave your next reply, you will find the needed fields below the comment area. The information you will enter is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.
Please ensure WPML plugins are updated to the latest version, WPML 4.8.2.
It looks like I don’t have access to the staging site you mentioned — hidden link. I was able to log in to the main site (hidden link), but it doesn’t appear to include the staging site within the same network. Could you please confirm what I might be missing?
We’ve just released a new version — WPML 4.8.3. Could you please update WPML and test the issue afterward? We’ve had similar cases that were resolved with this update.
You can check the latest releases under My Account → Downloads on our website.
Instructions for updating WPML can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/
If you don’t see the update right away, click the Check for updates button under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial.
Before I proceed with further checks, could you please test this using the latest version — 4.8.4 — which includes the most recent bug fixes and improvements?
In my previous message, I mistakenly referred to version 4.8.3, but I meant 4.8.4. Several similar issues were resolved in this latest release.
You can check the latest released versions under My Account → Downloads on our website.
If you don’t see the update right away, click the Check for updates button under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial.
Please let me know if the issue persists after updating.
