Background of the issue:
I want to keep my database as clean and possible and think I should use WPML products better. Can you assist? We have two languages: English and Dutch. Products should be available on both languages. English is outsole.nl and Dutch is outsole.nl/nl/. Dutch URLs should always contain /nl/.
We have two types of products.
1. Accessoires: About 1000 English and 1000 independently translated products. This works fine.
2. Sneakers: About 3000 English products and 3000 duplicates. We have a lot of changes with this products. Sold items get deleted, new products (about 200 per month) are imported and duplicated after. Sneakers in Dutch are mostly the same (same title, same slug + /nl/). Differences are the translations of used attributes and some coded adjustments that are only visible at Dutch product pages. I think there should be a way to show the English products in Dutch, without actually creating Dutch products. This would decrease our products by almost 40%. Besides,
I know there's a fallback option and I know there's a translation management option without creating Dutch products. Can you assist what the best way is to handle this? I tried many documentation, but still not sure what to do. It's really important that the process of adding products in bulk is as efficient as possible. I'm the only person that adds products and modifies them, so want to avoid unnecessary steps.
Thank you so much.
Symptoms:
Not sure what the most efficient way is to handle product translations and management, especially for bulk additions and modifications.
Questions:
How can I show English products in Dutch without creating separate Dutch products? Taking into account frequently bulk product imports that should not take time to show in Dutch.
