Dear WPML Support,

I hope this email finds you well. I'm reaching out to inquire about a specific functionality of WPML that could potentially save my team a significant amount of time.

We are in the process of setting up a new website and want to leverage the translations we've already completed on our existing site using WPML. Is it possible to export all the WPML translations – including content, pages, strings, etc. – from our current site and then import them into the new website? Our primary goal is to avoid the redundancy of translating content that has already been translated.

If such a feature or method exists, could you kindly guide us through the process or direct us to any relevant documentation or tutorials? It would be immensely beneficial for us, ensuring consistency across our sites and saving substantial time and resources.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. We've had a great experience with WPML so far, and we're hoping to make this transition as smooth as possible with your help.

Warm regards

Hello,

thanks for contacting us.

You can export/import post/page/product translation and its related taxonomies and data as explained in our next docs. There are 2 plugins you can use WP Sheet Editor or WP All Export /WP All Import.

- https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-all-import-plugin-website-import-with-wpml/
- https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/transfer-wpml-translations-from-one-site-to-another-with-wp-sheet-editor/

As for string translation you can export/import them directly from the WPML String translation screen:

Please check the shared docs as the process is extensive and let us know if you have any doubts or questions.

Regards,
Drazen
