Hi, we have WPML managing the translations of a site with translations configured per domain. We're having an issue with the US language hidden link when the url contains www.

hidden link redirects to the default language home page hidden link

For all other US pages the url doesn't change hidden link but when inspecting the html we can see from the body class that it's loading the default language

Hello,

Could you please narrow down if this issue could be related to this plugin:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/geoip-detect/

Would you be able to deactivate the plugin for a moment, to revise if this solves the issue? If so, let me know and I will try to recreate the issue.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi, we have deactivated the geoip-detect plugin but it doesn't appear to solve the issue.

I would like to offer to have a closer look at the problem and request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate this issue further.

You can find the required fields below the comment section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, which means only you and I can see and access it.

IMPORTANT
Please be sure to make a backup copy of the website and database before allowing us access.
If you can't see the wp-admin / FTP fields, your post and website credentials are set as PUBLIC. DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.

I may have to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" to make a copy of the website where I can investigate the issue further.

However, I would also be very grateful if you could provide a staging site or copy of the website from your server yourself for this purpose.

If you have any questions about creating such a staging site, you can consult your hosting provider. Just take note that WPML should be registered on this site again.

If you are unable to provide such a copy of the site for testing, please let me know on this ticket.

The private response form looks like this:

Next time you reply, click "I still need assistance."

Please note that we are obliged to request this information individually on each ticket. We may not access any access information not specifically submitted on this ticket in the private response form.

I will try to take a copy of the site using the plugin "All In One WP Migration" so that I can run a test on a virtual server.

Once I am done with this test I will contact you again.

It turns out to be difficult for me to recreate this issue, as I can not use different top-level domains on my localhost software and also it always strips out "www" from the URL.

When I check the URL for redirects I get:

According to this, the redirect is expected, I am only not sure where it is coming from. Are you handling somehow redirections on the server side? Did you consult the hosting support already to review the server's DNS settings?
