This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with Google indexing and client-side redirections when using WPML's Browser Language Redirect feature. This problem occurs when analyzing Italian pages on their multilingual site, which are being redirected to the English version.
Solution:
We recommend disabling the Browser Language Redirect feature to resolve the indexing issues and prevent unwanted redirections. You can disable this feature by navigating to WPML → Languages page and locating the Browser language redirect setting. For more detailed instructions and understanding of how this feature impacts Google indexing, please refer to our documentation: How Browser Language Redirect Affects Google Indexing and Automatic Redirect Based on Browser Language.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I have been using WPML for a long time on my site hidden link to create multilingual pages without using automatic translations or other functions. I am analyzing pages in Italian, the base language, using PageSpeed Insights.

Symptoms:
When analyzing any Italian page that exists only in Italian, I receive a warning: 'An additional client-side redirection occurred while loading the page. To view a more accurate version of the actual user experience analysis and performance metrics, we suggest you run the analysis again with the updated URL. Updated URL hidden link'. Additionally, when googling hidden link, I get the URL for Italian but the site description in English.

Questions:
Why is there a redirection to the secondary language?
Why can't I analyze Italian pages that are redirected to the English language?

I would like to add that all the urls of the Italian, German, Spanish and French languages in PageSpeed Insights are redirected to hidden link.
Thank you

You are using Browser redirect mode, which can cause issue with bots / indexing, please check next related docs for more info:

- https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/how-browser-language-redirect-affects-google-indexing/

If you are experiencing issue best would be to disable this mode.

Let us know if any other questions.

Yes, I am experiencing major indexing problems with google that I did not have when I was not using the wpml plugin.
The indexed pages have decreased dramatically!
Looking forward to the ticket update, I wish you a happy day

Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Unfortunately, there’s not much we can do in this case. As mentioned —both before you enabled the mode and in our documentation—the redirect option can sometimes cause the issue you’re experiencing.

Our best recommendation is to disable redirect mode and allow a few weeks for Google to re-index your pages correctly.

Kind regards,
Drazen

Hello,

sure, you can disable it from WPML → Languages page, and find the Browser language redirect (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/). It is already explained and linked in the docs I first shared, I advise going over it to understand better why these issues happens and how this mode works.

Hope this helps.

Drazen

thank you for the advice.
i think the problem is MAYBE ALSO another one.
if you can help me, i would be grateful.

Let's look and examine this page: hidden link

Opening it to edit it from my admin side, and going into the Yoast Seo settings, there is no canonical URL indicated.

Then I go into Google search Console and look for the link we are examining.
The URL doesn't show up in Google because it is indexed by the following “User-reported canonical content”: hidden link.

This setting, from the url of the page to the canonical url (hidden link) that I did not declare, but only because the page in question has other similar ones, what is the reason for this? where does it change?

I thank you
