I checked the conversation you had with Carlos and understood the issue. Since the issue persists, could you please share the link to the pages where you're having the issue?
Additionally, as mentioned in this Errata (https://wpml.org/errata/object-cache-pro-various-issues/), could you please confirm if the Plugin is still present in the 'mu-plugins' folder? If it is, consider attempting the following steps to see if there's any improvement in the situation.
- Please go to "Settings > Permalinks" from your WordPress dashboard
- Resave the permalink structure
- Once done, clear the object and other caches that might have been enabled on your site and check again.
Let me know the update, I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.
Yes, the plugin is still in the folder - wpml-no-persistent-cache.php
I've taken all the steps above but the 404s are still happening. Here is an example of one: hidden link it seems that when the translated pages get cached they become 404s.
I checked the link you've shared and noticed that the page is loading properly without any 404 error. Please check this screenshot: hidden link
But, as you've mentioned the 404 error is happening when the object caching is enabled, I would like to investigate the issue further from your end.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.
You will find the needed fields below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.
IMPORTANT
-Please backup site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link
Hi there, thanks for your message. The site is working great and passing all CWV without the object cache on so I'm happy to leave it off if it's causing problems with WPML. I'll get back in touch if the problem comes back again but it seems to be ok as long as the object cache is deactivated. Thanks.
It's great to hear that the site is performing well and meeting all Core Web Vitals criteria without the object cache enabled. If disabling it resolves the issues with WPML, it seems like a sensible approach.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if the problem reoccurs or if you have any other concerns. I'll be happy to help.
Best Regards,
Prosenjit
