[Escalated to 2nd Tier] Some string translations are only shown in frontend when
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
WordPress 6.7 has introduced a new issue that impact translations, please update WooCommerce and WPML to the latest versions before you report issues. More about this here - https://wpml.org/errata/php-error-wp-6-7-notice-function-_load_textdomain_just_in_time-was-called/
Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a string, which is the name of a WooCommerce Product Taxonomy via string translation to 2 other languages. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link
Symptoms:
Some string translations are only shown in frontend when "Look for strings while pages are rendered" is active. Instead of seeing "Color", I still see "Farbe", which is the original string.
Questions:
Why are some string translations only shown when "Look for strings while pages are rendered" is active?
How can I ensure the translated string "Color" appears instead of the original string "Farbe"?
I tried to disable all non WPML plugins but the site now has a critical error. Can you check the debug log and let me know what the error is? Then, you can rename the plugins folder and that should allow you access to the site again.
You can also include FTP access in your next reply so that I can do these steps on the beta site while I continue testing.
I will take over for Rasti since he's not here this week. I've set up a development site with an FTP user. How can I make a post private? Otherwise I cant send the login data.
The credentials for WordPress are not owrking for me. Please see attached screenshot. You can update the previous reply if you need to change the credentials.
I was able to login and noticed you are using an outdated version of WooCommerce. Please update WooCommerce and all active WPML plugins to the latest versions. Let me know once that is done and I'll be happy to continue troubleshooting. Thanks!
