Hi WMPL Team,

I have translated the author pages and category pages in /en/ and /fr/ version. But in category sitemap some of the /en/ URLs are missing and in author sitemap none of the URL of translated version are showing niether /en/ nor /fr/.

Note:
1- Yoast already installed
2- WPML SEO glue plugin installed

Author sitemap:
hidden link

Category sitemap:
hidden link

Please figure it out. Thanks!

Hi,

thanks for contacting us.

Authors' page are *real* pages? Or they're just some kind of template? Did you translate the texts via String Translation? If that's the case, they can't appear in the sitemap.

Which are the missing categories?

Not a template, they are real pages. Check the screenshot, they are not translated with string translation.

How can we add them in the sitemap? Then will go for categories.

Fields group are not pages, they're similar to strings. If you're using Fields group, it's expected you don't see the authors' "pages" in the sitemap as they are not really translated pages.
At the moment there's no way to add them to the sitemap.

If you tell me which categories have the issue I'll check them.

Calculator is also a custom post type (authors is not) so there are actual posts being translated. The fields you see there are fields related to that kind of post type, not the only content you translate.

Ok fine. If i create author as custom post type. Would they include in the sitemap?

And this is the example category URL:

hidden link

I can access both /en/ and /fr/ versions of this category

hidden link
hidden link

But these versions are not added in the sitemap.

A custom post type "author" would be in the sitemap, yes, but "authors" in WordPress are a bit different so I'm not sure you can achieve the same result.

hidden link is in the sitemap. hidden link is not in the sitemap because you don't have enabled the option for directory in the default language - if you see there are no categories with the /en/ in the URL.

hidden link is not in the sitemap because it's empty. If archives have no content inside, they do not appear in the sitemap.

There shouldn't be any error 404 or redirection in the sitemap.

For example, in hidden link we have:

hidden link

hidden link

hidden link

And all English categories without the /en/ in the slug.
----------------------------

In hidden link we have hidden link and hidden link should be there instead.

In hidden link we have hidden link and hidden link should be there instead.

In hidden link:

hidden link is duplicated.
There are URLs that end in "/null" like hidden link those give a 404 error.

All URLs are missing the trailing slash “/” at the end.

Did you change at any time the option for the directory for the default language?

I don't know from where it can chnage. Why everything is messed up in the sitemap? Now what's the solution?

Also, yoast is not adding the page URL with /en/ version in the "og:url" tag.

Yoast shouldn't add the /en/ category at all.

Please deactivate all the plugins except WPML ones and Yoast and see if you still have the issue.

You mean there would be a conflict beacuse of any plugin?

I don't know if there is an issue with some plugin. I can only tell you this is not how Yoast should work, I can't tell you why without tests.

And the first test to do is to rule out compatibility issues with other plugins.
