This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client wanted to display only "Français" instead of "Français (French)" for the language in the header and was also unable to see the flags for the respective languages in the header navigation.
Solution:
We recommended the client to revert any changes made to the language translations columns in WPML > Languages > Site Languages > Edit Languages. Then, to customize the menu language switcher, we provided the following steps:
1. Navigate to WPML > Languages > Menu language switcher.
2. Click the pencil icon to edit the language switcher.
3. Enable the flag option.
4. Disable the "Language name in current language" option.
5. Save the changes.

It worked Mohammed.

I do have other doubts/problems.

I want to show just "Français" and not "Français (french)" for the language in my header. I edited the settings in the plugin (attached screenshot) but I still don't see it as just "Français".

Also, I don't see the flags for the respective language in the header navigation. For example, the UK flag for "English" and France flag for "French"

Hi,

First, please undo the changes you made to the languages translations columns in WPML > Languages > Site Languages > Edit Languages hidden link

To customize the menu language switcher please try the following steps:

1. Go to WPML > Languages > Menu language switcher
2. Click the pencil icon to edit the language switcher
3. Enable the flag option (Screenshot attached)
4. Disable the "Language name in current language" option (Screenshot attached)
5. Save the changes

Kind regards,
Mohamed

Hi Mohamed,

Can you tell me how can I undo it? I don't find a reset option over there and I don't remember what were the previous settings.

The translation column shows the way each language name will be displayed in different languages.

So it should be like the following:

- Translation (English): English, French
- Translation (French): Anglais, Français

Please check the attached screenshot.
