This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with translating a sidebar widget on his page using WPML. The translations are not visible on the page despite being found in WPML.
Solution:
We have identified that the 'Industroz' theme is not listed on the WPML compatibility list for themes, which suggests a potential compatibility issue. We recommend reaching out to the theme authors and encouraging them to join our Go Global program so we can collaborate to ensure full compatibility with WPML.
As a workaround, we suggest creating a separate widget for each language. This method has been tested and confirmed to work.

If this solution does not apply or is outdated, or if further assistance is needed, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that the latest versions of themes and plugins are installed. If the issue persists, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket with us.

Hi,

Sorry for writing here about problems that have nothing to do with the current topic, but I have two more problems that I have not been able to solve on my own.

1. On the Careers page, on the posts related to open positions, there is a sidebar that displays the Brochure and a short text from the Widget. I found those strings in WPML but regardless the translation is not visible on the page.

Please see pictures attached.

I checked the site and tried another method to translate the widget by creating a different widget for the English language (Please check the attached screenshot). This also didn't work, so I think it could be a compatibility issue.

I have created this clean sandbox setup on our servers here:
hidden link (one-click login)

I would need you to please set up WPML + the WPML add-ons as you have them on your site (they are already installed) and also install the theme and try to recreate the issue.

Please don't install anything else like plugins that are not necessary, on a clean sandbox we try to use just the WPML plugins and the plugin/theme that's part of the issue.

If the issue is going to take place on this clean setup on our servers too, then I can consult our compatibility department about it.

Please let me know how that goes and what you can find.

I configured the plugins and add on as you wanted. If I missed something please let me know. From Monday, the site should be migrated from a subdomain to a domain, so then we will solve the remaining problems?

Hi,

The theme is not installed so I can't replicate the issue on Sandbox, please install the theme and try to recreate the issue with the "Download Brochure" widget.

I installed the Theme and required plugins.

I forgot to tell you, I migrated the content from the site dev.termoelektro.ba to termoelektro.ba and now the site is live.

I would like to ask you to access the site termolektro.ba from now on.

How to change licence from development site to production on WPML site?

The login credentials for WP admin are the same as for dev.termoelektro.ba

Hi,

The title and description can be translated on the sandbox site, please see here hidden link but on your site, only the title is translated.

I tried deleting the strings and retranslating them, but it didn't help. So I escalated this issue to the 2nd tier support team for further investigation and will update you once I get their reply.

Regarding changing the site key from development to production, please follow this guide: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-remove-the-this-site-is-registered-on-wpml-org-as-a-development-site-notice/

Hmm, very strange...

Have you tried to access the site in a new location because it has been migrated to a domain?

I will wait for your reply.

Yes, I can access the site with the new domain.

We couldn't find more clues about the widget issue. Please note that the "Industroz" theme is not listed on the WPML compatibility list for the themes - https://wpml.org/theme/. This means that our compatibility team has not tested it yet, so it could be a compatibility issue.

I suggest contacting the theme authors and asking them to join our Go Global program so our compatibility team can work with them to make the theme fully compatible with WPML, they can contact us at this link: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/

In the meantime, please use the other method to translate this widget by creating a different widget for each language https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-widgets/#using-different-widgets-for-different-languages

I tested it and it works as you see in the attached screenshots, please go to Appearance > Widgets > Custom Sidebar to edit the English widget and add the correct content.

Kind regards,
Mohamed
