This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client's bilingual Greek/English website was displaying Greek translations on English pages unexpectedly. Solution: We resolved the issue by translating the strings using the WPML String Translation. If you're experiencing similar problems, we recommend you try the following steps: 1. Navigate to the WPML String Translation page on your site. 2. Translate the strings that are displaying incorrectly.
we are facing a big issue with the site hidden link. It uses the template Houzez - compatible with WPML. The site is bilingual Greek / English. We have issued the site to our clients and a couple days after they have complained that the english translations were erratic. We have checked the site and we show that they were right. Before issuing the site everything worked perfectly (the domain has not changed) and suddenly when you enter an english page it shows greek translations. What can we do?
I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Thank you very much! It is very strange. We had made all the translations and the site worked fine. Suddenly all the greek translations become english - almost all of them. We did not changed anything nor the client (he claims so). Any idea on what caused this - in order to avoid it in the future?
