Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a page with inline tags using the WPML editor. The text containing the inline tag disappears in the WPML editor for Japanese. See the image for the WPML translation editor: hidden link.

I'm in <strong>real trouble</strong>. after strong tag english is ok とても<strong>困ってます</strong>。 after strong tag

Symptoms:
Strings containing inline tags do not appear in the translation. Until about the end of September, I was able to translate the page without any problem, but recently the translation of inline tags is not working. If there is a half-width space before or after the tag, it seems to translate well, but Japanese does not use half-width spaces.

Questions:
Why do inline tags disappear in the WPML editor for Japanese?
How can I ensure inline tags are translated correctly without using half-width spaces?

Hello,

The markers should be visible once you click on one of the segments.

I tried replicating the issue on a test site, but so far I can not confirm it. Could you please try to recreate the issue here?

Thank you for your reply.
I tried the WPML editor in the sandbox environment and it worked fine. However, I am using the CLASSIC editor.

I also use inline tags in the Product short description of woocommerce, but the WPML editor does not respond.
If I search for it in the search input field, I get a hit.

From what I see on your screenshot it would be expected that the Advanced Translation Editor uses markers, as this is raw HTML.

I have enabled the Classic Editor Plugin on my test site.

Could you please recreate the issue using the same markup?

It seems as this issue does not occur on our test site, correct?

I tried to reproduce it in a test environment, but could not reproduce it myself.

The same with woocommerce products, I could not reproduce it in the test environment I was given.

However, the problem continues to exist in my environment to this day.

I reset the test development environment and tried with a new wordpress, new database, but the results did not change.

If it is not due to garbage in the plugin or database, what do you think is the cause?
I also made a screen recording so you can take a look.

On the left is my development environment and on the right is the environment provided by Addreas.

**ps
Do you think the height of the field for entering translations is a little different? I wonder what this is... (;_;)

I am not sure why it is like this in this case, but if I search for the strings inside the Advanced Translation Editor's text search fields, and translate them, it works.

See screenshot.

Thank you for your reply.

About the matter that can be searched and translated, I also wrote on Nov. 6. I would also like to add that I cannot press the button to search and complete translation, I have to reload the page once before I can press the button.

Also, a mysterious loading icon is also displayed at that time.

I was able to translate until now, so is this some kind of bug in the Japanese environment?
I'm not in a hurry, but I sincerely hope it will return to normal.

(The screenshot was taken in the production environment when the “Done” button could not be pressed after a search hit.)

I do sadly not find this content on the provided test site.

Could you please allow me access to the production or site or try to recreate the issue on the provided test site?

Please, also send me a link to the original content on which the issue occurs.

The private reply form is enabled again.

My reply on November 11 was for the production server, but I have the same bug on the test site and all the test sites I have taught Andreas this time.

As pointed out, you can translate it by searching. But it is a bit more difficult to use and the translators tend to miss it.

We think maybe the same is happening on all the servers we are using.
I don't know if this is a clue to a solution, but I will send you the server status.

You need to name me a page or post on the provided site on which the issue can be recreated. If we can not recreate it is almost impossible to troubleshoot it.

Please send me:
- The title of the page or post
or even better
- The URL for the original page or post on Frontend

Please take kindly note that in a recent update for the Advanced Translation Editor this issue might have been resolved.

Such updates run on our external server and will be effective immediately without the need to update any of our plugins.

If you still can recreate the issue, please let me know and provide me the link to the original content that you are trying to translate.
