This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
You are trying to fetch subscription data using WPML and encountered a connection error: Unable to get data from service. The detailed error is cURL error 28: Failed to connect to api.wpml.org port 443 after 9376 ms: Couldn't connect to server.
Solution:
First, navigate to WPML > Support > Installer support on your WPML dashboard. Check if there are two green check icons at the top. If you see any red X-ses, it indicates a potential block by your hosting provider. We recommend contacting your hosting provider to ensure that the following domains are not blocked:
- wpml.org
- cdn.wpml.org
- api.wpml.org
- api.toolset.com
- cloudfront.net
Additionally, you can find more information about cURL error 28 in our documentation here: https://wpml.org/faq/wpml-plugin-cannot-connect-to-wpml-org/
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at our support forum.
