Background of the issue:
I am trying to resolve an issue where switching languages on my WordPress site, which uses WPML, results in the site going into maintenance mode. The ticket for this issue was closed too quickly, and the problem remains unresolved. The issue was thought to be related to posts being in draft mode, but I have verified that this is not the case. The issue can be seen on my site at hidden link.

Symptoms:
When switching from the basic language, English, to another active language like German or Dutch, the site goes into maintenance mode for users who are not logged in. As an administrator, I do not experience this issue, but regular users do.

Questions:
Why does switching languages result in maintenance mode for non-logged-in users?
How can I prevent the site from going into maintenance mode when switching languages?
