Background of the issue:
Our customer has their page live under hidden link, they are using WPML to have it translated from German to English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Earlier there were no problems getting the translations they get from Textmaster, but recently the translations they got either failed to show up entirely or only partly. They wrote: "I sent the post Moderne Extrusionsblasmaschine für Fässer mit Rezyklatanteil via WPML to Textmaster for translation. Once the translations were completed, I used the 'Check Status and Retrieve Translations' button to fetch the translations back. The posts were then created in the languages, but only certain parts of the translation were adopted. The title, the excerpt, and the meta tags were adopted. However, the permalink, the full text itself, and the image were taken from the previous post 'The Innovative Reusable Cup with Chip' (The post page was duplicated by a colleague and the elements for the new post were inserted)." They included the pic I attached. The last ticket got closed while I was on holiday. I had provided all the info, Duplicator package as well as login user to the website, but according to the logs no one ever logged in, and as far as I can see, the Duplicator package didn't get downloaded as well. In the meantime we also installed a new cookie plugin Complianz, which would have to be added to the list of plugins I described in the previous ticket, which can be found here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/new-translation-dont-show-up-as-pages-protocall-says-unable-to-authenticate/

Symptoms:
The translations either failed to show up entirely or only partly. The title, the excerpt, and the meta tags were adopted, but the permalink, the full text itself, and the image were taken from the previous post. The translations for the page hidden link are not showing up. The other Lehre section job offers are also not translated on the website.

Questions:
What might be causing the translations to fail to show up entirely or only partly?
How can we resolve the issue where only certain parts of the translation are adopted?
Why did no one log in or download the Duplicator package from the previous ticket?

Hello,

This is Ahmed Mamdouh from the translation proxy team and I'll help you with this ticket.

As I can see from the jobs screenshot you provided that the job's status is "Completed - Needs Update" which means that there are some changes happened on the original posts.

This issue most probably happened when the client made some changes (even if it is tiny things) on the original page and updated the page while the translation was still in progress, So the easy way to solve this is to resend the page again from WPML and work on the new original XLIFF file and translate it again and make sure not to edit the original in the website while the job still in progress.

Please make the above test with one of the jobs and check if the issue still exists to make sure that my assumption is correct.

Best regards,
Ahmed Mamdouh.

I gave your info to our customer last week and asked her to do what you said. I'm not sure how far she got though, because she was about to go on holidays and it takes some time to get the translations back. I also asked her to make a screenshot of every step she takes so we can fully check where something went wrong (if it still does). We have to wait for these though.

One issue that remains, however, that she mentioned is the vanished translations. I had uploaded the XLIFF files she sent into the Google drive so you could check. She does not necessarily want to pay twice for the same Textmaster translations. So it would be great if you find a way to get them back onto the page. I was unable to unfortunately.

Best regards,
Michaela Majce (for the Iphos team)

Hello,

Honestly, I didn't understand the issue clearly, could you please clarify more what exactly you want to do?

But as far as I know that textmaster has translation memory, and if the client sends the same page again, he will not be charged except for the new words.

Best regards,
Ahmed Mamdouh.

I got feedback from our customer yesterday. She sent one article for translation again and made screenshots of every step she took. (Those starting with 1 to 6) I will upload them. What she wrote yesterday afternoon was that the text seems to be fine now, the picture was still the wrong one, but I now see the correct one in the still unpublished English translation. I have to ask her if she changed it or if it just took some time.

So I'm guessing this part works now.

She also sent me screenshots regarding the translation memory you mentioned. I told her what you said, but as you can see she had to pay again.

Also the pages that vanished when I took exactly the steps your support suggested in a previous ticket to get the translations to show up as pages again, are still in the Textmaster, she said, but she cannot send them to WordPress again. She would have to pay again for retranslating them - and from what I saw that is not cheap. She had sent me the XLIFF files, which I tried to upload manually into WordPress, but it did not work. That is why I uploaded them to the Google Drive, so you could have a look. But maybe you can tell me where she can find the translation memory function at least. She also took screenshots of that (with a description of the view). She wrote that she can "Download the file, create a template, archive the project or duplicate it", but nowhere could she find that translation memory you mentioned.

Best regards,
Michaela (for the Iphos Team)

Sorry, I forgot the URL for the page that had been sent to translation again:
hidden link
The new translation has just been made for English and the page is not published yet.

Hello,

Regarding the vanished jobs, could you please provide me with the previous ticket you mentioned to check the case and investigate it?

Regarding the translation memory, Supposedly if you are sending a piece of content that has been translated before by Textmaster, it will be translated automatically without charging the client any fees, if you have a problem with this, you need to contact someone from Textmaster support to check this from textmaster side.

Best regards,
Ahmed Mamdouh.
