Background of the issue:
I am trying to automatically translate all languages on my site using WPML. The languages are mapped correctly, but I'm encountering an issue. As you can see in the screenshots I have shows Romanian as an example, we need to use custom codes ro_RO, so we have ro_RO setup to map to ro
Yet it's in the error message as not being allowed - there are multiple languages with this error, yet other languages setup exactly the same work completely fine
eg slovak. sk_SK -> sk
Then we have the issue of German de_DE -> de not working, while German austrian and swiss de_AT -> de, de_CH -> de work perfectly fine - I can't figure out the pattern what's causing some to work and others to fail
Symptoms:
The following target languages do not support automatic translations. I'm getting the message in the title.
Questions:
Why am I receiving a message that certain target languages do not support automatic translations?
How can I resolve the issue of automatic translation not working for all languages?
While waiting for one of my colleagues to be assigned to your ticket, please go to WPML->Languages-> Edit languages and under the language mapping column, map these languages using custom locales to the correct language and save.
Once that is done go to WPML->Translation Management->Tools and verify that the languages are showing OK there as well.
As you can see in my screenshots in the original post this is what I have done, multiple times at this point, and it doesn't solve the issue unfortunately
To debug this issue further, I would need to check your site settings once, for this I would need temporary access (wp-admin and ftp) to your site.
So could you please provide me with those details, you will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. hidden link
Sorry for the delay, we have to get permission to allow access first - this should be sorted on Monday. Just waiting for confirmation of your test account setup
If that's going to be changing, we need to instead give you a basic auth password rather than using a whitelist system. Due to agreements with our client we cannot make this public.
We no longer seem to be able to send a private reply on this support forum - are you able to get private replies activated for us or otherwise confirm how we can send you the details in private?
Please note that you should be able to at least connect to the site now, even though you still need basic auth details to continue. There was previously a geography based restriction that meant you couldn't - if you could try loading the site in the meantime and just confirm if you get prompted for a username/password, that would be great.
