Tell us what you are trying to do?
I'm trying to add the languages switcher, we have set it up in the settings, but it's still not showing.
Is there any documentation that you are following?
No
Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support.

1) In order to expedite handling your support requests, can you please share WPML support debug information from your site?

- To give debug information, login to your site and go to WPML -> Support. From there click on the “debug information” link at the bottom of the page.
- Once on the “debug information” page, select the entire text box content and copy it.
- Now go back to our support forum, find the debug information box, and paste it.

2) Can you please tell me how are you adding the menu to the website, are you using any widget/theme option/custom-coded menu, etc.?

Looking forward to your reply,
Marsel

We're not using any widget, we are trying to add it from the Menu settings from "Add a language switcher".

Hi,

Thank you for the screenshots provided.

Would it be possible to test and see if the issue happens in a minimal setup, meaning setting a default WP theme, disabling all the plugins except the WPML Plugins?

This would help to understand if it is an issue related to any possible compatibility problems with any plugin/theme you might be using.

I would suggest you try testing in a staging/testing site, in case you’ll be testing on a production site please make sure you have a full backup of your website (files and database).

Let me know how if the issue still happens in minimum setup,
Marsel

Is it possible the problem is from one of these plugins?

It shouldn't be related to any of those plugins as an issue, would it be possible to have a temporary access on your WP admin so I can further troubleshoot what might be the issue?

* I set your reply as private and there should be a box where you can enter the wp-admin details.

Looking forward to your reply,
Marsel

Hi,

Thank you for providing the wp-admin access, I was able to log in and I saw that there was no language switcher set on the WPML -> Languages -> Menu language switcher section.

I set it for you and should be visible on your website.

You can check our documentation for more information:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Kind regards,
Marsel

I'm sorry, but this continues to be a problem. If I try to change the design it disappears completely. Now even your setup doesn't show anymore. I'm confused what is happening!

1) If I understood correctly, when you make a layout change the language switcher gets removed from the website and from WPML -> Languages -> Menu language switcher section as well?

2) Can you send a step by step guide how I can reproduce that issue, are you using the Divi visual builder to make layout changes?

* feel free to send a video if that is easier for you

Looking forward to you reply.

I tried to send a video, but I suppose the format is not supported. When I go to WPML - Languages and I set up the menu language switcher it says "Settings saved" and then when I refresh it disappears. Even when you set it up yesterday, it was working and I tried to only change the design of it and it disappeared again. If you set it up it works, but I can't make any design changes, which is still a problem, because you made it as a dropdown and the client wants is as only a flag.

Hi,

Thank you for the update.

Would it be possible to try and check if the issue happens in a minimal setup, that meaning:

- keep the WP theme you have
- disable all plugins
- keep active only the WPML plugins

Then, add the Menu language switcher (don't worry about showing just the flag icons), and try making a layout change as you were and see if the issue happens again.

Looking forward to your reply,
Marsel
