[Resolved] The menu language switcher suddenly disappeared.
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client reported that the menu language switcher disappeared from their website, while the widget language switcher was still visible. Additionally, they were concerned about the WP memory limit and its impact on their website. Solution: For the disappearing language switcher, we advised the client to check the configuration in WPML > Language > Menu language switcher and ensure that the 'Menu' is set to 'Menu no countries'. We also suggested verifying that the navigation menu is assigned to the correct 'Display Location' in their website settings. Regarding the WP memory limit, we explained that increasing the limit is crucial to prevent potential crashes due to insufficient memory when the website grows and more scripts from plugins and themes are loaded. More information on this issue can be found here: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/fix-wordpress-memory-exhausted-error-increase-php-memory/
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant, we recommend opening a new support ticket. It's also advisable to check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

The menu language switcher suddenly disappeared this morning. The widget language switcher is still visible. I have not changed anything, I have not added any plug in or changed any settings. I tried to deactivate all the plug ins and check if it's any compatibility issue but it didn't help.
I've checked your Website and indeed the "Language Switcher" is nowhere to be found. May I know where the "Language Switcher" previously appeared? It could be conflicting with the theme stylings or hidden by some kind of conflict.
If you're not sure and would like us to troubleshoot this further, I would need to take a closer look at your site. So I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed
IMPORTANT: Please, note, a backup is required for security reasons, and to avoid any data loss, you can use the https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/ plugin for these backup needs.
Your following answer will be private, which means only you and I have access to it.
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site if required. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
While checking your debug information, I noticed that your “WP Memory Limit” PHP limit is below the required 128MB or recommended 256MB as described at: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/ . Could you please contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase this PHP value for you?
I've checked your Website, and I noticed that you had configured the "Language Switcher" in WPML > Language > Menu language switcher to "Menu" as shown in the attached screenshot.
To display the "Language Switcher" on the correct menu, you need to edit that option by clicking on the "Pencil" icon and setting the "Menu" to "Menu no countries".
I've checked this "Menu" hidden link and it's not assigned to any "Display Location" as shown in the attached screenshot. Are you using the correct "Navigation Menu" that you want on your Website?
As for your second issue regarding the "blog posts", please open a new ticket.

Hi Kor, thanks for your quick reply and helping. I will raise a new ticket for the second issue. Would you mind replying my previous question about WP Memory Limit PHP Limit increase you have suggested. I understand it's a WPML recommended requirement but can you please explain how it can affect my website? Is it a preventive measure? If I don't increase it now, at some point, my website, if it grows bigger might just crash? Thanks. Regards. Beti.
I apologize for overlooking your question. It is important that your Website have the required WP Memory Limit to run all the scripts that are being loaded from the plugins and the theme.
It is most likely you'll hit the memory limit(if it's still below required) and your Website crashes with this "Fatal Error" explained here hidden link .
I hope this clears it up.
Thanks!
Kor
